Normalised and DNA Journey

Image
Task 1- Documenting your Journey When I first got the role I was really surprised to be given a role so important and I was nervous but slightly exited to perform as Phil, the first thing I did was go off and read through the script to see the stage directions, what he does and what he says. At first when auditions were running I didn't audition for the role of Phil as I originally went for the role as Danny as I didn't understand DNA at first and then when I filled in for Phil in 2 auditions it was noticed how I was very observant of the things happening around me and how I was listening to the people talk around me but not reacting as much or responding. We also were given a sheet of questions to ask our self's about the character we were given. I also went home and did a lot research behind the character and found he he loves true crime so I watched a lot of true crime shows to give off the smart and scheming vibe. Also during rehearsals I played around with what I coul...

Week 19

Monday Today, we played splat which involved good concentration otherwise you would be out. Kelly then spoke Uta Hagen and she wrote 2 books respect for acting and challengers for actors she also focuses on bringing authenticity and truth to the stage. We then were given diologes to practise and me and Jasmine were given a dioulgue set in an art gallery and I didn't find it that difficult I just gave off the impression of a high-class rich person and we were given questions to answer which helped make things better and one of the questions "what happened before" and I just created a whole backstory for my character. Term 2

Week 17:   Monday Today we got into a group of three and we talked about what challenges we set for ourselves for this year and I spoke about how I need to be more louder and confident when I perform and not to be afraid to be in the spotlight. After that we cleaned up some of the costumes left from musical theatre and put it in the little corner office.   Tuesday Today we played two games ninja which requires concentration since you have to be quick with your movement, we then played village which for me you need to be really vigilant and look out for how people are acting to spot out the vampire. We then sat down and discussed about national theatre connections and what we are doing in the future and talked about Amanda Velazquez because she has a script of a play of her own and based of her personal experiences. Thursday We started the day off with playing cat and mouse is a physical warm up and the ability to think fast in situations needed. After we sat down in a circle a...

The Flick

The Flick  Assignment   When we got the task for the flick me Hope and Jasmine went off studied our script and read through it. We then read through the lines and swapped characters to see what fit us best, I was rose/Roz Jasmine was Sam and Hope was Avery. We then had to stop for a bit because of the ghost light tours practised and then after we went straight into Pinocchio. When audition week was over we got straight back to the Flick me jasmine and hope then created a scene, I gave the impression of a sassy harsh character which was fun to do. What was going through my mind when I was reading the things about Rose/Roz was a really confident but rude character so when we were acting it out I was focusing on how my face was moving with giving dirty looks and eye roles felt right as Roses/Roz character.

My Son Pinocchio

My son Pinocchio evaluation Research When the play was talked about happening I immediately got on the computers and was looking up about the show and watching clips of shows, and for my character I wanted to be (Stew) I mainly focused in on them to see what their mannerisms are like and how Stew acted on stage since they were a made up character for the show, I used some of the awkward sassy acts for the show, this also links in with costumes since I tried finding good ones of Stew but there weren't many good representations of her so I shared a costume with Stew, I also watched movies and focused on how the ensemble reacted to main characters and how they are important to show. Auditions: When audition week started I felt very nervous as I felt like I would of made a fool of my self but I practised lines before hand to make sure I was as prepared as possible. When I went into the audition I was asked to do the blue fairy line as the character I'm playing, Stu. When I went i...
