Term 2

Week 17:

 Monday

Today we got into a group of three and we talked about what challenges we set for ourselves for this year and I spoke about how I need to be more louder and confident when I perform and not to be afraid to be in the spotlight. After that we cleaned up some of the costumes left from musical theatre and put it in the little corner office.

 Tuesday

Today we played two games ninja which requires concentration since you have to be quick with your movement, we then played village which for me you need to be really vigilant and look out for how people are acting to spot out the vampire. We then sat down and discussed about national theatre connections and what we are doing in the future and talked about Amanda Velazquez because she has a script of a play of her own and based of her personal experiences.

Thursday

We started the day off with playing cat and mouse is a physical warm up and the ability to think fast in situations needed. After we sat down in a circle and we talked about the national theatre connections, then we got handed the scripts 'Normalised' and got to choose character parts to read from and I was Jay a gay character mourning the loss of his boyfriend over a shrine in the meadows that is constantly being vandalised and the meadows are about to be cut down so he starts a campaign to stop that from happening and faces many obstacles on the way. After break we lessons with Tom and we were reading the play 'Mid summer nights dream' by Shakespeare an iconic one, I read Demetrius's and King Oberon of the fairy's parts, the three themes were histories tragedy's and comedies, Histories focused n the plays that were for King James second and for comedies it was a mid summer nights dream and tragedy is Romeo and Juliet and Othello and Macbeth. After lunch, year two's and level fours were with us and Tom spoke to us about LGBT+ homophobia and discrimination since those are big themes in the play and to genuinely make sure we have an understanding about it. We then started singing a song of the show Agatha All Along which is one of my favourite shows, we had to split in groups and sing differently like in the show and we had to sing quite low like Jen did.

Week 18

Monday

We played a game on the morning and we had to sit in a circle and in the middle was a bottle of water and 2 people needed to pick it up but the object had an obstacle where you could not touch each other or snatch the bottle or talk to each other, the game was really interesting and took a lot of concentration but overall enjoyed it.  

Tuesday

Today we played a new game lead by one of our pears, you stand in a circle and you are given a certain category where you would walk up to someone and say something that links with that category. 

Wednesday

For our warm up we were joined by level 2 and we played cat and mouse which is where you find a partner and link arms with them and spread out across the room and 2 people are the mouse and cat, one runs other tag and the mouse needs to link on to another person and the other persons needs to link to others, this game is about concentration and getting energy up and the second game was splat where you get in as circle

Thursday

For our warm up this morning we did a game of splat, which you stand in a circle and and when someone shouts splat at you duck down and two people turn to each other and shout splat who ever says it first survives the other is out. 

Week 19

Monday

Today, we played splat which involved good concentration otherwise you would be out. Kelly then spoke Uta Hagen and she wrote 2 books respect for acting and challengers for actors she also focuses on bringing authenticity and truth to the stage. We then were given dialogues to practise and me and Jasmine were given a dialogue set in an art gallery and I didn't find it that difficult I just gave off the impression of a high-class rich person and we were given questions to answer which helped make things better and one of the questions "what happened before" and I just created a whole backstory for my character.

  Task 1.1 Production Diary   April 29 th – 1st may: Monday   we did a read through for the show lovely bones and I was sharing with my friend saying lines since were the same character but in different casts and then we spoke about what happens and how rehearsals are going on.   Tuesday   Today we started of a game with village, this game helps me with concentration and listening. 6th - 8th may

  Monday NOT IN Tuesday Today we did a warm up were we had to ignore Suzie because myself and others struggled not to look at her so we did that. After that we worked on a few scenes that needed work on and I thought about how I could use the space during them. Wednesday Today, Tom helped us with American accents and taught us a few ways to help with them and listened to other peoples ideas of how they learn. After we worked on the beginning scene where all the dead kids introduce the show to make it more interesting and to help keep it going. We then worked on the funeral scene to capture the emotion and to make it more dramatic when Lindsey sees Mr Harvey and when Ruth slightly sees Suzie when she says her speech. Thursday Today we just run through some scenes of Lovely scenes and looked over some that needed worked on. We couldn't do much some most of the people needed were in Jayne Eyre, at 1 we then took off to watch and to support our friends that were in it.
